Part of an interesting staff that pushed Franklin Pierce to the Division II College World Series, Hathaway brings good stuff but big durability questions. He can run his fastball up to 95 mph from the left side and sits 91-93. He also throws a solid-average curveball and changeup. Hathaway has already had two surgeries and is 23 years old, however, and he has a slight frame at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. He missed several weeks in March and April and made seven appearances this season (five starts), though he struck out 34 in 29 innings while walking just seven.
